You suggest training ones ears on headphones until they can afford studio monitors. I love that idea! Would sound cancelling headphone be ok? Or would the sound cancelling somehow be detrimental?
Hey Dave,
I recently did a live mix for BADGER ROAD using REAPER…it was not easy but we managed and it’s not perfect but we ended up with 9 songs in 2 days ..long days too but FUN days. Mike sent me to your page and I clicked LIKE.
Hope to meet ya some day and shoot the breeze
JEFF
Hey Jeff, Thanks for the “like”. Sounds like a audio workout for sure ;), Do keep me posted on your project and let me know if I can answer any questions for you.
Dave Pensado had some great tips for “ear training” the past couple weeks. Worth a watch for anyone that hasn’t seen his videos …

Thanks for the info Dan, pensado has some great stuff for sure.
Among the free demos you mention with good functionality should be the Massey collection. Even the full versions are not expensive, but they all sound really great, esp for the money.
Hey Josh, thanks for the tip. I’ll be checking them out soon. I have heard great stuff about the same plug-ins, just haven’t taken the time yet to download any of them. Keep in touch and have a great Christmas and New Years!
