This week I came across a pretty useful free virtual drum kit plug-in. Drummic'a was created by Sennheiser and is great if you're looking for an authentic acoustic kit sound for your mixes.
One thing I'll note is that even though the plug-in has both an English and German language setting, this part of their site is in German. If you don't read German (like me ;)), simply download and install the Chrome web browser and visit the link below from there. Chrome will automatically translate the site for you from German to English.
There is a free registration required for the download but it's well worth your time. Check it out and let me know what you think.
This doesn’t appear to be available anymore.
I downloaded the zip file. I got a macbok pro. The file came without an installer. So i had to throw it away. Its a shame there’s no help I could find, no one at Seenheiser I could reach to. Bummer, really. If you got a solution for that please let me know!
I found the free kit (Big Mono) at Analog Drums helpful. It’s at the bottom of the page at http://www.analoguedrums.com/details-bm.php If you like it the rest of their kits are inexpensive.
If you don’t have something to play virtual instruments I found the free Sforzando http://www.plogue.com/products/sforzando/
And for drum loops Groove Monkee at http://groovemonkee.com/ Good value here.
I’m trying to keep my recording hobby as inexpensive as possible and figure others do to – so this seemed like a good place to share these links.
I installed it. now what ? Doesn’t appear to be a VSTi, can’t find an EXE either
Manual is vague on what to do
Hey John, the install that I downloaded was a .zip file. This needed unzipped and there was a install file within the folder. This may be slightly different on a Mac as I’m using a PC.
Hope this helps
