Very nice informative Podcast thank you!
I’m wondering, When i listen to my singing voice it sounds off and I don’t like it. But everyone says that my singing voice is that normal? Could it be my microphone perhaps? If it is normal will i ever like it? Thank you
Thanks Micahel, glad you’re finding the information useful and happy to have you part of the growing community.
On your singing voice when recording. It’s perfectly normal to sound strange to yourself when listening to your own recorded voice for the first time.
A large part of your voice also comes from what you feel while you sing. Your chest, diaphram, and nasal areas all vibrate while you sing and this shapes your sound in addition to your throat and vocal chords.
When you take the ability to personally feel these vibrations while your sing, it will sound strange until you get use to hearing yourself. This is what takes place when you listen to yourself on a recording.
Your friends are use to the sound of your voice, you’re use to the sound and feeling in your body when you sing. In time you’ll sound less and less strange to yourself. Your mic is most likely not the issue.
Hope this helps and keep in touch!
