New to me: Set the input in DAW for a channel at between -12 and -6. I still had analogue on my brain and was trying to push everything to zero.
I hear ya Adam, I used to do that myself. The digital world is much more forgiving here with background to signal noise for sure.
Great topic! I have listened to this podcast 3-4 times now. Giving me some food for thought. I’ve been thinking a lot recently about dynamics, and keeping the levels adjusted correctly. Digital is a little different from analog for recording levels. Gotta leave enough headroom for the mastering. Thanks for the podcast!
