I bought Addictive Drums a while ago, but haven’t experimented with custom sounds much. I would love to know if it can produce an 80s snare, such as the one in this Cyndi Lauper song …

All the snares I tried in Addictive Drums produce a metallic resonance sound that just doesn’t fit the 80s genre, nor a lot of my own music.
AD is a great virtual drum set regardless. My own drum patterns are pretty boring, so I rely heavily on the AD patterns and fills to spice things up.
Hey Dan, glad the info was helpful. On the snare sound in this video, I think Addictive drums can do that just fine. It would take some time to play with compression, the pitch plugin and mic settings. That’s a pretty typical snare sound though and should not be that difficult to create with what I know of the plugin. To point you in the right direction. 80’s snares like this one usually have a fast attack compression, tuned a bit lower than a pop snare might be (just match the pitch to this video), and reverb to give it that decay. Hope that helps! Cindi Lauper takes me back to when I was in elementary school! ;) Ha ha
btw, checked out your site. Nice mix on your home page! Check it out here for anyone else who is interested.
