What do you do when your acoustic drum tracks sound great, except the snare or kick? Did you know you can actually turn a regular audio track into a midi trigger? In turn this can then be used to trigger the sampled drum sounds from your favorite virtual instrument.
In this episode of the show, I'm going to show you how I replace my snare drum sound using the Reaper DAW and Addictive Drums. I'll also tell you about an amazing drum replacement tool that will work in any digital audio workstation.
I have been going through some of your videos and they have made a very large change in the way I have been recording I still have a long way to go and a lot of equipment to buy but things have changed dramatically thank you
David-I don’t have that “turn audio into drum sample trigger” in my Reaper search-how dio I get that plug in? I DO have audio to midi Drum trigger–will that work the same way? Thank you so much!
it’s in the js plugins, make sure to click on the “All plug ins” before searching, its standard with all Reaper installs.
oh my gosh-I didn’t know Reaper had that plug in available-that will save me so much trouble with my Slate Trigger-I have been using a trigger on the snare through a Roland module then into Slate-this is SO much easier! thank you!
Great job, I learned something today!
A good tutorial on setting up and using an audio trigger and a good insight into the variety of JS tools available in Reaper.
Thanks for the comment Stan!
