I used this last night for the first time as an EQ on the master bus for
mixdowns. Oh my God, this has totally transformed my tracks !!! Much better low end, but also it has removed all the the low end “mud”. All mixes sounded clearer, louder, deeper bass and more space and clarity. I am totally gobsmacked. Thank you very much indeed for this amazing plug in !!!! :)
You bet Ken, glad it worked out well for you.
Hello
this type of quality plugin usually has a much higher price-tag on it..not many freebies like this one around.
Thanks so much!
You bet Roland! Thanks for the input.
Regarding the FREE Son EQ, how do i get this plugin to show up in protools 10 . the extention is .vst rather than .dpm
Hey Mike, I was just responding to your email with this question as well. This is a VST plug-in only. ProTools has their own type of format called RTAS. The only way that I am aware of to use a VST plug-in for ProTools is to use some type of VST to RTAS wrapper. At the moment, I’m not sure of a free option to do this but here is a post that addressed the issue. http://www.protoolerblog.com/2012/12/03/transvst-allows-you-to-run-vst-plugins-in-pro-tools-10/
Hi Dave, Just wondering what kind of tracks you would use this EQ on (instead of going with a standard stock EQ)?
Good ? Dan. Honestly I don’t use this one all the time but I have at times used it on my kick/snare and sometimes a full bus just to add a bit of needed freq. It really worked good for fine tuneing where you don’t need really narrow notches. Like all plugins, it produces a sound all it’s own. It’s worth comparing to any stock 3 band but is truly subjective as far as which one is better,it’s just different.
